About Direct Clutch Services

Direct Clutch Services has been operating out of the Inner Brisbane Suburb of Albion (next to Fortitude Valley) since 1988.

Direct Clutch Services initial objective was to service the inner Brisbane and northern suburbs with all clutch servicing/

repairs and flywheel machining needs. Since 1988 Direct Clutch has expanded to supply clutch kits and clutch parts to an international client base in over 18 countries. We enjoy a particular focus on performance racing clutch services to the motorsport industry.

Locally (Australia & NZ) Direct Clutch has seen great success in all types of racing in particular drag racing, with  Numerous Sport Compact World and Australian Records. New clutch kit categories such as our 'Drift' range have proven success in our racing customer's cars.. Refer DCS Gallery.

Staff Profile

Jerry Kehl:  After being a Direct Clutch customer for over a decade Jerry felt the strong desire to become a member of the team. Jerry brings over 15years performance automotive experience, commencing his automotive involvement in 1998 working behind the scenes in what was to become Australia's Fastest Rotary Drag Racing Team. Jerry then becoming operations manager for one of Australians leading Rotary and Performance shop based in Brisbane.

Jerry known for his Rotarolla Corolla which featured in may magazines in the late 1990s, with several Magazine feature cars previous that. Still with the Strong desire to go fast Jerry currently campaigns 20B Triple Rotor powered FD Rx7 in the ST289 Class. Currently PB of 8.51 @ 174mph.  Jerry today fills the spot at DCS in the role of customer Service and Work shop hand…

Steve Lawson: Started in the Clutch Industry in 1989. After a 7yr stint, Steve commenced with Direct Clutch Services in 1996. Steven brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of General and Performance Clutches. Steve's involvement has seen continuous development to the already ever popular DCS Billet Twin plate Racing Clutches. This  involvement has seen wide range of success in highly competitive race categories such as Import Drag and speedway to name a few. Steve also crewing on a number of higher profile teams. Divisions of Speedway is where Steve’s passion lays. Steve himself has seen great success with numerous Speedway titles and championships to his name.

Dave Burke:  With 24 years experience in Performance, General and industrial clutch servicing Dave is a valued member of the DCS Team. Dave’s Experience commenced in 1985 with Girlock Clutch until  later commencing with Direct Clutch in 1994.  Common to most of us, Dave has a passion for speed. In Dave case his main interest was in off road racing. Campaigning as driver and navigator in several off-road events. Dave's role as lead Clutch rebuilder and adviser… It is widely regarded that Dave's knowledge on industrial/machinery clutch is second to none! 

Drew Tarrant: The most recent addition to the Direct Clutch Services Team. Drew brings 16 years Automotive experience with him. 7yrs Genuine Ford Parts/Service (in country NSW and Brisbane City) and 9yrs with a leading Australian Performance Parts & Cooling Manufacturer. Like most of us Drew also shares a passion of going fast. Drew Successfully raced Karts in NSW for 6years prior to progressing  to Jet Skis and then performance Road cars, regularly competing in Hill climbs and Lap sprints. Builder Owner of several Fast Fours & Zoom Magazine feature cars. Drew brings to Direct Clutch Services a wealth of knowledge and experience to the areas of general & performance automotive.
